4Whole Cloves
2Cardamom Pods, broken
1Cinnamon Stick, broken
1/4 inchFresh Ginger, chopped
6Black Peppercorns
1/4 tspNutmeg
2 1/2Water
2 1/2Milk
4 tbspCeylon or Assam Black Tea
Sugar/Honey

Method

  • Add spices, water and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for 5 minutes.
  • Add the milk to the pan and bring to a boil again.
  • Add tea and bring to a boil again.
  • Strain into a warmed teapot or directly into teacups.
  • Add sugar or honey to taste.
